Ciudades en la ciencia ficción

Muchas veces en las obras de ciencia ficción aparecen ciudades, lugares donde habita un gran número de seres, que no existen en el mundo real. Pero otras veces estas ciudades están basadas en lugares reales que podríamos encontrar en un atlas.
Sabemos que sin interacción social no hay relación entre el nivel mental y el nivel físico de las personas. Esa relación entre los dos niveles se representa en la ciudad y la manera en que se habita. La arquitectura que forma la ciudad forma parte de esa interacción social, de tal manera que modificar la ciudad modifica la interacción social. Y modificar la imagen la de ciudad futura (si excluimos las ucronías), del escenario futuro, puede llegar a modificar la visión de la sociedad actual. Por esa razón se le da tanta importancia a la arquitectura aparecida en la ciencia ficción.
